That's why I'm now offering coaching sessions that focus on exactly that: The art of visual storytelling.
You probably know the feeling: You're flipping through a magazine and get caught up in a photo series. Not because the images are technically perfect (they usually are, thanks to post-production, that digital magic kitchen of modern photography), but because they captivate you. You want to see more, understand more, feel more. This is no coincidence — it's craftsmanship. A craft that I've learned over my years as a photographer and that I now want to pass on.
My coaching concept is as individual as your photographic signature: We work in the smallest possible team: you, a model, and myself as… well, let's call it storytelling guide. That sounds at least better than "master" or "guru," and it spares us all those awkward moments when someone comes around the corner with "master." No distracting factors, no compromises, pure concentration on what matters.
We begin with preparation, where I'll give you some "homework." Yes, you heard right — homework. I know the word triggers flashbacks to sweaty math classes, but don't worry: This isn't about integral calculus, but about your personal visual narrative style. We'll develop storylines together, work on visual language, and hone your ability to read and photographically capture body language.
On set, I'm your active sparring partner. I'm always nearby, giving tips on camera settings, holding the reflector when needed (yes, even a guide has to sweat sometimes), and supporting you with all technical and creative questions. And no, I won't be standing next to you with a red correction pen.
The most exciting part comes at the end: The joint analysis of your images. Here we'll look at how your story has developed, where the strong moments lie, and where we can dig even deeper into the narrative treasure chest next time.
Why am I offering this? Because I firmly believe that the difference between a good and an outstanding photographer lies not in technique, but in the ability to tell stories. And let's be honest: Isn't it much more exciting to be a storyteller than just someone who pushes buttons?
If you're ready to take your photographic narrative art to the next level, let's develop your visual language together. Since this coaching is aimed at experienced photographers who want to refine their visual language, you should already have a solid grasp of photography basics.
