And I wonder how I do this every year. How I sit here in January not knowing who I'll be photographing in October. It's a bit like playing roulette, except I have to throw the ball myself.
That's why I'm writing this. A little reminder to everyone who's been thinking about getting in touch: Now would be the time. Not sometime in summer when my calendar is full again. But now. Whether you want photos for yourself privately (and I mean really for yourself, because private stays private), whether you want to fill your OnlyFans page with proper content instead of the tenth bathroom selfie, whether you've always wanted to become a Playmate, or you're simply curious about how artistic nude photography works.
For my own independent work, I'm still looking for new types. Women between 18 and 30, athletic, with few or ideally no tattoos. And, this is important to me, with a facial expression that doesn't look like it's been copied from a glossy catalog. You know what I mean: those perfectly symmetrical, smooth, far too flawless Instagram faces. They bore me, I'm afraid.
I'm looking for real women. With edges. With character. With that certain something.
And if you're thinking right now: "But I have no experience in front of the camera," don't say that. First, I enjoy working with newcomers. Second, sometimes the most interesting images emerge precisely from that uncertainty. When someone hasn't yet learned (on Instagram) how to pose "correctly," something magical often happens: genuine moments.
