Aphrodite represents the goddess of love, beauty and sensual desire. Her stories are closely linked to romantic adventures and intrigue, and she is often portrayed as a powerful and fascinating figure in Greek mythology.
Vi Bla Bla is an extremely strong and self-confident woman. She embodied this divine and powerful role brilliantly for me. When I feel like I'm looking at stills from a movie when I'm taking photos, I know it's all working out. And that's how it was with this shoot.
The location was unique. Not far from the Acropolis — you can see its reflection in the window shot — I embarked on a nostalgic journey. A homestory of a special kind, if you will.
Many spacious rooms, three balconies, and furnishings as if Grandma had just passed away. Like a museum, yet so real. Plus, features like an elevator that went straight into the apartment.
The neighbors above me might have had a rooftop pool, or maybe they spent the whole day splashing around in the bathtub. For me, there were intoxicatingly many impressions. So much to experience and see.
Unfortunately, flushing toilet paper down the toilet was not allowed. That's something I could do without. But as a photographer, you have to deal with it when you want to shoot in such a special place.
The bathroom, in any case, reminded me of my childhood. Even though I believe we had a different bathroom at home when I was growing up. But these are the vibes that stick in your memory.
The kitchen was incredibly ugly, but there was something warm and inviting about it for me. The feeling of nostalgia never embraced me as much as it did here. It made me feel homey and I was just incredibly grateful.
I like photos where you can discover a lot. That let you dive into them like hidden object pictures. And so it was when I was selecting my kitchen photo much later that I discovered that Vi Bla Bla's panties were hanging over the chair.
At 10 full pages, this pictorial has also become very long without being boring. The apartment was so big that I even left out some rooms. I am very grateful for the privilege of working in such a special place.
After these ten pages of Vi Bla Bla, I needed to take a look at the stairwell to catch my breath again. And to allow you a little break.
