I always try to stimulate the imagination with my pictures. I want to tell stories or even better: to start a movie in your head without having to tell too much. That's where I see my challenge.
When the topic of virtual reality appeared in the media, I immediately had this idea. And I was feverishly hoping that no other photographer from my genre would come out with such a photo series before my book was published.
This topic is just crying out to be photographed. And then Apple even came around the corner with its VR glasses. I really crossed both fingers that no one would publish something similar before me. And it worked.
Strapping on those VR goggles is like diving headfirst into a dreamland where anything goes. Once those bad boys are on, it's like the real world disappears, and you're off on a ride through the imagination. You can basically live out your wildest dreams. Wasn't that already a theme in an old Woody Allen movie?
Anyway, it's as if your brain has been given a backstage pass to a reality in which much more is happening. With every turn of your head, you dive deeper. These VR glasses are not just a piece of technology, they are a ticket to a place where reality and dreams merge in a cool way.
