New Shop, Same Old Baker Complex

New Shop, Same Old Baker Complex

A baker bakes rolls every day. I sometimes don't touch my camera for weeks. And every single time, there's that gnawing guilt: Shouldn't I be producing daily too, like a proper craftsman? Spoiler: No.

Reading time: 2 Min.

While my camera sits in the cupboard, I'm not lounging on the couch. I'm working. You just can't see it. I've just completely overhauled all the shops on my website. Every product can now be ordered directly, no back-and-forth, no manual invoicing on my end. Fully automated. You pay, you get your invoice, I get all the information. Done.

The baker sells fresh rolls in the morning and everyone can see he's been working. I spend weeks building invisible infrastructure and everyone wonders why I'm not taking photos.

But I do take photos. Two to three shoots per month, often in clusters. Especially in winter, I use the time for productions abroad. No school holidays, pleasant temperatures in the Canaries, perfect for outdoor material. While others are handling their Christmas rush, I'm producing on Fuerteventura.

Which brings us to the problem:
Santa and I now share the same calendar.

The traditional Christmas shopping season doesn't exist for me anymore. So if you're planning to treat yourself or someone else to something, now would be a good time. Not tomorrow. Now.

More specifically: I can process orders until November 17th. Then I'm gone, not back until December 17th. You can order anytime, of course (my online shop is open 24/7 - how wonderful that companies always feel the need to point that out). But delivery won't happen until I'm back in the country.
