Uncaged Bird: Mellow 3/35

Uncaged Bird: Mellow 3/35

Taking photos in a greenhouse is actually a classic. And yet I've never done it before. I just didn't have the right little house. Then I discovered this tiny orangery…

Reading time: 2 Min.

The name orangery is perhaps a bit of an exaggeration. It's a small conservatory, but it's simply beautiful. And quite hot in summer, by the way.

I've wanted to work with Lana for a long time. She has such a voluptuous bust that I thought she would fit perfectly in a garden. Fertility and Adam and Eve and all that.

Behind the Scenes

Sometimes I find it a bit annoying that I'm such a perfectionist. For this shoot, I bought a pair of overly expensive floral patterned underpants just to use them in the first photo where they were barely recognizable. Perhaps it wouldn't have been necessary.

So that not all my pictures are just brown like the nature on Fuerteventura or Ibiza, I deliberately looked for green. However, working against the light and under the trees was cursed. The light was constantly changing and there was a real green cast to the photos. But you have to get through that as a photographer. At the end of the day, I'm celebrating the fullness of femininity with these pictures.

Lana in the greenery

If you're wondering how I managed to create this dreamy atmosphere, it was quite simple. Lana told me that sleeping is her superpower.

Lana also has a great profile. Her nose looks very cute from the side. This is just a little tip in case you get to photograph her some day.
