Our shoot was actually planned quite differently. Avery would arrive at the airport in Frankfurt, I would pick her up and then photograph her outdoors. She was flying in from Brussels. Then I got a message from Giacchi, at whose place she wanted to stay overnight. He asked me how I had planned my shoot, because Avery wouldn't be arriving until late in the evening and it might be a bit tight for my shoot.
Avery had accidentally booked the cheapest flight and was coming from Brussels with a stopover via Rome to Frankfurt. Not exactly a shortcut to travel from Belgium via Italy to Germany. But something like this has happened to all of us before. You don't pay attention for a moment and you're on the wrong plane.
As a big fan of black underwear, I always have to try something new. This time it was something for leg lovers and fishnet cycling shorts. I mean, how crazy is that?
At first, the photo with the pantyhose wasn't even in my selection for the book. I posted it on Instagram as an outtake and got more likes for the picture than ever before. This confused me and I thought to myself that maybe it shouldn't be an outtake after all. So it has now ended up in my photo book.
During our shoot, I realized what a difference it makes whether the sun is shining or not. Sun is so important for the mind. For the mood. We blossom. You can see that in the photos. They are very different to my winter photos with Avery. Not only as a photographer I have to say: I love the sun.
